Why hello there! My name is Callie and I am a super happy-go-lucky doggo. Would you believe me if I told you that I entered my foster mom's home wagging my tail after a long exhausting road trip (24 hours straight) while being transported from Manitoba to Toronto by road along with 40-50 other dogs?
I am a happy girl and like to be active all day, so I LOVE going for long walks and to have lots of toys to play with all day. My ideal furrever family is one that will be active with me! I like chewing on toys and bones and will make sure that you keep your things in the right place - if I see a shoe outside of the closet, it will be mine.
I am super easy when it comes to my food and not fussy at all. I am food motivated so training me to be the best doggo will be easy-peasy.
I get into my crate easily when treats are thrown in and am fully crate trained and house trained. Foster mom praises me in front of her friends how smartly I signal that I want to go out or remind her that it’s walkie time. I don’t mind car rides, but I do need to be secured so I stay in one place.
I have a super cool and lively personality, but I am not a hyperactive/jumpy dog. I can be hyper-vigilant on my walks as I was used to chasing squirrels and birds and bunnies. However, I am a quick learner, and I am slowly learning to ignore and not get too excited while I am on leash and have greatly improved. I love walking fast or jogging - this distracts me from the squirrels which is a good thing!
Dog company would be a bonus for me. I did have a foster sibling back in Manitoba. I am not too fond of small dogs unless they are very calm. I do need proper introduction to dogs on my walk in a nice way. I do great on pack walks. I warmed up to 2 small dogs that I was initially not too happy to meet just few minutes into the walk. I love meeting people on my walk. If I see another pet owner, I tend to ignore the dog and walk up to the owner for some petting at times.
I'm so excited to find my furrever family!
