My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bubbles is a GREAT DANE- male- neutered- 2.5 years old. UTD on shots and HW-

Just enough puppy to get hisself in trouble- just enough adult to make you forget he’s a puppy. He’s house trained- crate trained- and basic obedience- sits- (sometimes stays) lays down- and paws when he wants. he does well in public- he plays well with other dogs- make and female- although proper introduction is a must. His favorite all time games are tug of war with a rope- and chase and tag- (these 2 are totally different games- you must figure out which one he’s playing- 😆😆) he’s a Velcro dog- but also wants to be left alone- as in- he wants to be near you- but he doesn’t always want you touching him.

Bubbles was up for euthanasia for unwanted behavior. However with that said- we have worked with him for 5 months and have determined that he needs a strong human to match his energy. Physically and mentally. He will prey on the weak- and scared. Knowledge of the breed is ideal- he needs a yard- an active person would be best suited for him as a tired dog is a happy dog.

Keeping the counters cleared is a must- or a way to keep the kitchen blocked off- as he likes to counter surf. We have been working on this and he’s gotten a lot better. He does respect doggie gates- but he also knows how to open them. So locking ones is prefered.

Bubbles needs someone who can handle his mood- be patience- and also love him as he learns to trust- he’s such an amazing dog and he just shines like a rainbow when he’s at his best.

He would do well with another dog who is mid to large and can handle him and play. Senior dog or small dogs would not be ideal- as he is still young and can hurt them just by playing.

Bubbles likes to test his boundaries- and see how far he can push someone- once he understands there are rules- he will listen and mind. He does not tolerate being abused and he will defend hisself if he feels threatened-

Overall he just needs help with changing his way of thinking to adjust his behavior to match his train of thought. We have worked with him extensively these past months and he has really come around to such a wonderful dog. He has changed his though process and therefore has changed his behavior. This will always be a working progress with him. He knows his size- but he’s such a love bug once he warms up to you. He truly does want to do the right thing- and get all the praises- and love.

He currently weighs 113 lbs- his weight fluctuates between 105-115 on average. We have done what we can for him- and he can only excel from here- as much as we would love to foster fail- it’s time for Bubbles to find his own Furever Home.

If you feel you are the right human for Bubbles-
And you are ready for a challenge like him- please submit your application with Pound Pups- and we will definitely welcome the idea of you being his furever home.
