Abby is an energetic 8-year-oldminiature pinscher who loves to play with toys. If you’re looking for a dog that will be your constant companion, she’s the dog for you. She loves spending time with you, either at your feet or on your lap. She tolerates other dogs butwould rather be your only dog.

It takes her a few minutes to accept new visitors, but she is not toddler friendly. When introducing her to new visitors, you should hold her as they enter. After introducing her she can be let down, and she will become their new best friend in a few minutes. Abby will thrive better in a low key environment.

Abby is also very smart. She can shake, and she responds to “cage up” when you need to crate her. She does not like to be crated when you’re home, but she’s fine in the crate while you’re away. As long as you let her out regularly, she does not have accidents. She won’t bark to go out, but if it’s been a while, she’ll whimper a little. If she needs to go, saying “Do you need to go outside?” will prompt her to run to the door.

The bottom line is that Abby is a great dog. She’s affectionate, playful, and intelligent. Just make sure you have LOTS of toys for her

If you think ABBY is the dog for you, please fill out an adoption application today!

ABBY is available for adoption through K-9 Rescue of the Eastern Shore.

An adoption process is required to include filling out an online adoption application available at the following link -- https://www.k9rescuees.org/info/adoption

Veterinary and personal reference checks, and a home visit/meet-n-greet are required PRIOR to being approved to adopt. The time frame for completing this process depends largely on how quickly references respond, your vet office is able to speak to us (some want written permission first), your landlord or HOA (if applicable) confirms their approval for a pet, & how your schedule aligns with that of our volunteer(s) for the Home Visit.

PLEASE NOTE ~ All of our rescue members are volunteers with many obligations. While we may not be capable of immediate response, we will respond to all inquiries and application submissions as soon as possible. Thank you for thinking adoption!
