Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Update 9/22/21: Bentley had his first vet visit last night and received a clean bill of health! He weighed 10.9 lbs and behaved incredibly well. The vet estimates him to be 5-6 years old. He received all his vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and parasites, and is scheduled for a neuter and dental on Oct. 13th, along with presurgical labs on Oct. 11th. After he recovers from those procedures, he should be ready to go to his forever home at the end of October. In the meantime, he is learning a lot and doing very well with potty training. Put in your application today for this handsome love bug!
Initial Bio 9/17/21: Hi, I'm Bentley! I was plucked off the street as a stray by a very nice man, reported to animal control and held on stray hold for 7 days. No one was looking for me and sadly, I was in pretty bad shape when arriving to foster mom's house. I had hundreds of fleas covering my entire body, even my eyeballs! I had a wound on my side that was old and had a nasty scab, my nails were several inches long, and I was pretty gross overall. Foster mom got me all cleaned up and rid of the bugs, thank goodness! I feel much better now, but definitely need some vet care. I need to get vaccinated, neutered, have a dental, dewormed, and tested for heartworms. This will all be done over the next month and we will know more after my vet visit. I clearly was used for breeding, and I am an anxious, busy little guy learning how to live in a house. I get along with the resident dogs, although I prefer the little dog over the big. I am not fully housetrained, but I am working on it. I have kept my crate clean at night, but I really don't want to stay one any longer than I have to since that was my life before coming here. I would do fine as an only dog since I LOVE attention and get very jealous, barky, and pushy when I am not being shown all the love. If there is another dog, I would prefer it be small and already well balanced to help keep me less anxious. I am extremely needy and clingy, and I will need someone who can devote a LOT of time to me and continue my training, so someone who stays home would be the best fit home for me. I am very happy and sweet, and love people, but given my anxiousness, small kids would not be ideal - plus I have no concept of getting out of the way of feet so I am a huge trip and step hazard. I have not met a cat but given that I can be slightly picky with my dog friends I dont think cats are high up on my list of friends either. I won't be ready to leave for a month or so, but if you have any questions, email my foster mom at resqdogs2@yahoo.com.
