My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*** Penny is in a foster home ***

Black & white bicolor, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 7/20/20, #16317

Cats: okay
Dogs: no thanks
Children: hard pass

Without a minute to spare, Good Samaritans saved Penny from a high-kill shelter in Los Angeles. From there, she traveled to San Diego and moved into her foster home. Reeling from that traumatic experience, Penny slowly adjusted to her new surroundings. After two months, this darling teenager surprised us all when she delivered a baby boy out of the blue! Motherhood sweetened her demeanor, and her concerns about humans started to subside bit by bit. Having raised her baby right, Penny is ready for the next chapter and looking forward to meeting her forever family!

Penny is a sensitive beauty who longs for a tranquil place to call her own! While she’s made tremendous progress learning to trust people, she is still reserved and wary of change. Patience, routine, and reassurance will make her feel safe and invite her to open her heart to you. Penny adores the sound of your soft voice and relaxes to soothing baby talk. Food is one of her favorite things, and she might even allow you to pet her as she feasts on her dinner. (Just be sure not to startle her with any sudden movements or you might receive a hiss that says, “How rude!”). Being a peace-loving kitty, she appreciates a good hiding nook and kindly will pass on any conflict with other cats. In fact, she’s so quiet, her secret power must be super feline stealth!

In terms of other felines, Penny does well with them, mostly doing her own things. She has not met dogs; however, we suspect that Penny would be overwhelmed by them. As for kids, Penny lives in a household with rambunctious toddlers running around; Penny stays clear of their path and finds them to be curious creatures worth observing from afar. Although she is okay with them, we suggest a household without children for Penny as she prefers her space quiet and calm.

With the benefit of your patience, understanding, and acceptance, Penny will settle in and become your very own secret agent cat… peering out at you from hiding places all over your house! Will you give Penny the chance to quietly work her way into your heart?
