Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Name: Roni
Breed: Bully Mix
Age: 3 ½
Cat tested: Nope
Kid Tested: Yes! Did well, but I don’t know my own size so supervision or older children!
Hi friends! My name’s Roni. I’m a male, 3 and a half-year-old Bully-Mix. Here’s a bit about me...
My interests are: Meeting new people, playing with my toys, and car rides.
Humans describe me as: A super fun dude that loves to play with his humans, and loves his toys! I’m also pretty smart! I know all the basic tricks like come, sit and I can even give high fives!
When I go to a new home : I may try to test some boundaries, so it’s important that my new humans know to set strong boundaries and implement a good structure from the beginning to set me up for success. (This might look like me trying to be pushy for attention, so you give in because I’m cute - but this can turn into really pushy behaviour fast)! I’m good at entertaining myself but won’t say no to a pet and a cuddle when my owner is home.
I’m still working on: My leash training. It’s a work in progress. I’m looking for a confident human that can be a strong, patient leader with me while I learn to be better at walking in distracting environments. So far, structured walks have been very successful in helping me get better at focusing on my human. I’m also doing REALLY well working on my eye contact! I REALLY love my toys. This is great for training, but I’m still learning to give up my toys. My fosters have been working on a “drop it” command with me, which I am really good at for a high value treat. I’m not aggressive around toys, but I can be a little protective, so continuing to work on this command and give rewards for good behaviour is really important for success!
My experience with other dogs/kids I’ve done really well with proper introductions and practicing my existence vs interaction in my previous foster home with my foster sister. I’ve also been successful on pack walks, and have played with a few dogs in the backyard. Proper introductions are always important! I’ve met a toddler, and done well, but I tend to not understand how big I am, so supervision is important so I don’t knock anyone over! It’s also important to know that I’m learning to share my toys, so making sure that toys are put away around young ones will be important.
Other things you should know about me: I have some allergies so I have to take medication that I will continue to wean off of to a tolerable dose. I’m also on a special food that is helping y skin look and feel amazing that I will need to be on for life. The vet says that as long as I stay with this regimen, my allergies should stay under control and I should continue feeling great!
My ideal family can be described as: I’m very easy going so any family would be wonderful as long as my human is willing to help me continue my leash and give me structure - I do need someone who is willing to continue teaching me that all good things are earned so I know that I have a leader. If you’re looking for a relaxed, easy-going friend with plenty of love to give, please apply to be my new owner.
