My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Finn!

Finn is the perfect example why rescues exists. The condition that Finn was found in was terrible and will make your stomach turn, but his future is bright and happy in the care of Lola’s and someday, the care of a new loving family. Finn was abandoned at a house where he was malnourished, beaten, and yelled at frequently. Somehow this bright, silly boy still loves life and can’t wait to find a forever home with loving a family.

Finn was less than half his normal weight when picked up from a property that was literally starving him and his 2 siblings to death. In this home, he was screamed at by his female owner and consistently abused and hit by the children in the home. At this time, Finn is still learning to love and accept children’s kind touches. You can see Finns initial skin condition in the last picture.

He is silly on walks until you get going and then he does very well. He has discovered the pool and although he doesn't swim, he splashes on the steps. He plays with toys and can even entertain himself tossing it in the air to try and catch it. He now weighs 45.5 lbs (up from just 25!) and may put on a few more but he is now at a healthy weight and a super happy boy. He can be a little over zealous upon meeting new dogs or people so his Foster always uses a slip lead and treats to help redirect him.

Finn was bald and skin and bones but now a lovely furry prince that loves to snuggle on the couch when. He sleeps/stays in a kennel when unsupervised and for bedtime and goes in on command. He loves training and is quickly picking up new commands!

He is very treat motivated but not food aggressive. He is super playful and loves a schedule. Calm
young kids could be a possible home but he is scared easily by loud noises and cautious around kids. Finn needs a little time to adjust but warms up quickly to a kind voice and soft affection. He will do anything for kind words and affection from his humans!

Finn is currently fostered in Wisconsin!

**Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once approved a meet and greet with the dog. Please do not apply if pets in the home are not up to date per our website requirements or are not altered.

Wisconsin applications are priority, but Illinois applications will be considered if no small children are present in the home, the home is owned, and excellent vet reference can be provided. We cannot process applications from other states.

Adoption fee is $350 unless otherwise noted above.

Puppies under 1 year of age accept application for families with children over 6 years of age for large breeds and over 8 years of age for small breeds. Since they are still puppies, dogs under 1 will require a basic obedience and puppy training class, and spay/neuter at the owners expense.
