Say hello to Davey, the smartest dog you will ever meet! Davey is a 4yr old mix of big ears, tail wags, and smiles. He had a rough start to his little life but it has not broken his spirit. His happy smile will lift your spirits on the dreariest of days. Found on the streets of Chicago, Davey hasn't had consistency in his life until now. So, as amazing as he is (and he truly is) Davey still needs work on some training to learn to not get overly excited when seeing new dogs and alarm barking at strange noises. His foster home is working with a behaviorist and Davey has made amazingly fast progress! We expect him to live up to his full potential.
This 45 lb bundle of sillies is searching for an active household to enjoy running, hiking, and agility with and come home to quiet snuggles on the couch. Davey's favorite toy is every toy but especially the thesaurus. He is intelligent, inquisitive, curious, adventurous, brilliant, agile, spry, nimble, fascinated, eager, enthusiastic, voracious for knowledge (and treats!) Davey loves any and all treats and with his love of playing, hiking, and agility he needs all the snacks.
When we say Davey is smart, you wonder, how smart is he?!? Well he isn't a rocket scientist but he learns just about anything! He knows Sit, Stay, Paw, Other Paw, Down, Wait, Touch, Up, Off and is crate trained and bell-trained for potty time. Davey needs a family to stimulate his exceptional little brain. Like a genius kid who will act up if they are bored in school; Davey will always find a way to entertain himself. But, with a nice long walk or run in the morning, a doggo pal to wrestle with, and a bone to chew on during the day, Davey is a well- behaved happy boy.
Davey loves to romp and play with other dogs after a slow introduction to get comfortable. He runs and wrestles and tugs with boundless energy. He will do best in a home with a confident, playful, medium energy dog who wants to play but also cuddle. Davey has not lived with cats but is good with children of all ages Adopt this sweet silly smart boy today.

Canine Cupids' mission is to protect and improve the lives of homeless, neglected, and exceptional needs dogs and to place them in permanent, loving homes.
Canine Cupids is a Certified 501c3 Organization
DATCPLicense: 288601-DS
Canine Cupids work with animals, within our community and throughout our organization is guided by three core values: compassion, integrity and dedication.
Because every animal deserves to be loved, we feel it is our moral responsibility to protect and improve the lives of abused, abandoned, and homeless dogs, and to place them in loving permanent homes.
We strive to work with animal control agencies as well as other rescues and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless pets within our community.
At Canine Cupids our founding principle is that "ALL dogs are individuals and deserve to be regarded as such". This mindset is core to the belief system at The Animal Farm Foundation. It assists in securing equal treatment and opportunity for "pit bull" dogs - as well as all dogs, regardless of size, color, etc.
"We owe it to all dogs to see them for who they really are, free of prejudice, stereotypes, and assumptions that are based on a known pedigree, a breed label guess, physical appearance, or their past history."*
"Breed related traits are not guaranteed. If a dog does conform to breed traits that does not mean a dog isn't an individual! Breed characteristics may contribute to a dog?s individuality, but they are not the whole story." *
Don't judge a book by its cover and don't judge a pooch by its stereotype!
