My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Hi, I’m Jax!  I’m the neighborhood flirt who loves attention but will always be loyal to you.  I’m a 4-year-old blue merle border collie, weighing about 35#. Lover of people, dogs, cats and kids, I’m looking for my forever home.

Need an extra set of eyes to keep those kids in tow?  I may be the boy for your tribe.  I am super playful and full of love.  My favorite thing is playing with ANYONE; human or animal, that gives me love.  My mom and dad taught me manners, so I share my food with the cat, who is my best pal (he kind of thinks he’s a dog).  My mom says I’m bragging because I can’t think of many things negative about myself.  But that’s not a bad thing, right?  You should hear all the words my mom uses to describe me.  OK I’ll tell you… enthusiastic, outgoing, anxious to please, obedient, and adaptable.  Ha, and she thinks I’m the bragging one!  I’m crate trained and house trained, but sometimes I mark my territory when in new surroundings (they tell me that will get better after I get neutered next week).  Neutered?? What does that mean?  I’m not so sure that sounds like going for ice cream.  But anyway, I’m already up to date on my vaccines, I’m heartworm negative and on monthly preventatives.

I adore people, smoochies, other dogs, kids, and even my fur brother cat.  I am a man of nature so most days I must be encouraged to come inside.  I’m a herding dog by nature so I have work to do, you know. I also need a securely fenced yard, because given the chance, I’ll take off to go explore the world.  It’s great fun to watch mom and dad run after me (they’re actually pretty slow), but I know it’s also dangerous, so I need a fence to keep me safe.

Oh, and check out my smile!  I can’t wait to meet you!

Love and wags,

Jax
