*UPDATE 11-15-2021* It's been about a month since Clemmie came to Illinois for foster care and he is doing amazingly well. His bullet wound is all healed and he is enjoying backyard play and also cuddle time on the couch. He is a lot stronger now too. Clem has tons of personality and he does like to play a little tug and a little fetch. He would do well in a home with a playful companion and he needs a safe fenced in yard.
Clemmie is now in foster care in Illinois. He is CHARMING!!! He is also very playful and would love a dog buddy in his forever home. The wound from the bullet on his back is healing beautifully although he will probably always have a bald spot. His heart-worm slow kill treatment is also going very well. He's such a fun dog- completely house and cage trained. He's really going to need a very special foster to adopter that will help him recover from all of his neglect and love him as much as we do. We are so happy he is in town!!

Clemmie is a little Mississippi Super Mutt that wandered onto the property of foster family Janet and Sam's farm on August 28th. He had a gaping wound on his back end and was in obvious pain and was very thin and hungry. X-rays at his vet appointment on the 30th showed he had a bullet shattered near the wound and he was also full of buckshot. Someone was trying to kill him. Bloodwork also revealed he was infected with heart-worms. With some good antibiotics and pain meds, Clemmie is feeling a lot better and his wound is also healing nicely. He'll always have a patch of skin without hair on his lower back and he'll always set off metal detectors.
He could have possible hip dysplasia so we will be consulting with an orthopedic surgeon after we get him settled in the Chicago area.
