My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Willie!  Born around March 2019, he is a sweet badger boy who just wants to be loved.  He is just a wee bit overweight at 93 pounds, but his foster mom is working to get those last few pounds off him.

Willie had it a bit rough before SPIN came to his rescue.  He was in an animal shelter where he had been surrendered with three gunshot wounds and was in otherwise bad shape.  SPIN pulled him and sent him to an emergency vet where they cared for him and kept him for the weekend.  He was so ready to go, he tried to get into his foster mom's car by himself!  Now healed and happy, Willie is ready to find his forever home.

He enjoys playing with his doggy foster brother and sisters, but if the play gets out of hand, he'll make himself scarce.  Willie is a lover, not a fighter!

When the play is over, he wants to be as close as allowed to his person!  He currently sleeps next his foster mom's bed, so he doesn't miss a thing.

Willie can scale a four-foot chain link fence, but has only done so when he couldn't find foster mom.  He will be very attached to the lucky person that adopts him!  He even scratches at the door when he wants to go out.

Willie has an old injury to his right eye that makes it look just a little wonky, but the vet says it doesn't bother him and not to worry unless it does.  He also has a bit of shrapnel in his left rear leg that can be felt, but again the vet says it's not an issue unless it starts to bother him.

After all he's been through, he naturally is not happy to go to the vet unless you can be there for reassurance.  He does pull a little on the leash, but he just gets excited to go with you.

Willie's forever home will think they won the lottery with this boy. He would like nothing better than to hang with you on the couch and watch TV or go wherever you go!

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
