Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Zoe came to us after her senior owner was unable to remain in her home and moved to long term care. She is a nervous girl, and prefers to be near her foster family always. She is shy with strangers, and will flee if approached too quickly. Zoe has some separation anxiety, but is becoming more comfortable when left alone...she is happiest in her foster brother's crate, it's her safe place.
After living in an apartment, and using pee pads, her outside potty skills need some improvement. She is unable to hold it for longer than 6 hours, so needs frequent bathroom breaks, and she still doesn't like to poop outside, although she no longer has pee accidents.
She prefers to sleep in her foster mom's bed and will whimper if placed in the crate at night.
She is affectionate and has recently started to play with the other dogs in her home. She is very good on leash and enjoys car rides. She is fostered in a home with a large dog, another Chihuahua and kitties. She would be best in a quiet home with children older than 12 years.
She is heartworm negative, dewormed and flea treated, up to date with her vaccines, spayed and microchipped.
An application to adopt her can be found on our website www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com. Click on Adopt, then Dogs for adoption and scroll to the bottom of the page for the application. Please take the time to fully answer the questions and provide your current vet information. This will help speed up the process and save time for our volunteers.
Due to the large volume of applications that come in, we will only contact those applicants that we wish to move forward with. There is no opportunity for meet and greets until an application has been approved.
