Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bailey is an approximately 10 year old pug/dachshund mix (with maybe some beagle also thrown in there). Bailey came to us after his owner passed away and there was noone to take him in. A neighbor had been feeding Bailey and the other animals on the property and reached out to us to help place the dogs. Bailey is a very sweet older boy who wants to be with his people. If ignored he gets a bit mouthy and will bark until someone pays him some attention. Bailey lived with an older gentleman but he does seem to like children (older children would be best), other dogs and the neighbor who was feeding him said that he also did good with the chickens that were on the property. Bailey was always a house dog so he would really love to be that again! He longs for a warm lap and a comfy couch to curl up on. Bailey was seen by the vet on 9/14/21 and was not found to have any health issues. He is a bit overweight though and weighed in at 36.5 pounds. Being a smaller dog, it would benefit him to lose a little weight although,if he is like many of us,I'm sure he isn't too fond of dieting and/or exercise. Bailey walks well on a leashand loads right up in a car..he seems to enjoy riding. We were told that he is housebroken (although we never guarantee that) and he does appear to be crate trained. Bailey does not dig or climb out of a fenced area and also does not require a lot of exercise so if you like a calmer, more chilled out dog who has learned maturity in his 10 years of life, then Bailey may be the dog for you. He would love nothing more than to find his constant companion and find love again! If interested in giving Bailey his forever home, please submit your interest and your adoption application via email or text ONLY to 352-215-3260 (phone calls will not be answered or returned from this number). Bailey's adoption fee will be $175 to help cover the cost of his vetting and daily care while with us
