My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bessy is a 5 yr old chi mix around 8lbs.
She is a very special girl and one of our longer residents. Bessy was found hanging my her neck with a wire off of the side of a garbage can. Luckily she was saved before imminent death. It is clear she has not had great interactions with humans and it takes her some time to trust.
She spent the first 2 months of care hiding under the couch only coming out at night to eat after everyone went to bed. She was extremely malnourished and emaciated.. her teeth were horribly rotten..She's a VERY picky eater so she still struggles with her weight.
After the trust is built and she decides she is safe she is literally the sweetest happiest snuggler. If lap dog could be a slogan, it would be hers. She simply loves whole heartedly. She bonds better with women over men but eventually does warm up to them as well..
She doesn't mind being crated at night, but will protest during the day. If she has access to outside she won't have accidents in the house. She coexist fine with other dogs but doesn't interact with them much. She loves to be buried under covers and snuggle with her person. She is a rescue favorite and a perfect representation of what rescue is all about!
She has had a full dental. She is spayed vaccinated and chipped
