Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet MAXY! Max needs someone who will be patient with him. It appears he was abused and/or left in a back yard for all of his 5 years, with minimal or no socialization. The poor guy just wants some direction. A routine. Max is potty trained and will not have any accidents if taken outside on a schedule - every 3 hours is when I walk him to go or a back yard would be ideal. He's a quick learner and very smart. He loves little dogs, as well as dogs his age. He is mostly dog avoidant with bigger dogs, but this will mostly change as he comes out of his shell, he can walk by a dog without even noticing. He plays gentle and gets silly once he gets to feel comfortable. Because Max was possibly abused, he can be a bit nervous around strangers, but, again, avoidant. Max would never bite anyone. Max would be best with older kids because he is fearful. He has progressed so much since I've had him, a little over a month. Max walks beautifully with a loose leash and stays directly to your side as if he took training classes. He smiles, can be a big couch potato and LIVES FOR HIS WALKS. Likes to go on a run for a mile or so 2-3 times a week. Likes to walk on the bay. Not too excited about going in the water. Max is insecure and fearful, a doggie buddy in the house, preferably a female would give Max the confidence he needs. He's progressed so much in just one month at my home. Max would do best in a home with a yard, although I'm looking for a stay at home someone to make him feel safe at this time. This will be bitter sweet, but who ever gets this dog is one lucky family! He doesn't bark, bite, chew, or dig. He's perfect! Please go to our website for an app! Mybestfriendrescue.org
