My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lady and Gaga are 8-year old sister labs, sweet lovebugs who are fiercely loyal, playful, and fun. Lady (black coat) is the more stoic sister, always looking out for Gaga (tan coat). After a good nap, Lady loves nothing more than rubbing her head on the floor and making happy noises. Lady has a habit of pawing you while you’re petting her if she’s of the opinion that you need to keep petting her (which is always). She’s a great guard dog, too. Both dogs can be a little shy meeting strangers but will warm up to them after a little time. You can actually see Gaga smile when she gets attention (she also purrs like a cat while being petted but don’t tell her that). She’s the goofier dog, willing for you to place her in any position that makes it easier for you to pet her. If Gaga is seated on the floor and you’re reaching down to pet her, she will immediately take it to the next level by rolling over so there’s more of her for you to pet. Both dogs love going on walks or just hanging out at home. On walks, they behave well and respond to commands, like making sure Lady calms down near another dog. They are both quite afraid of heavy rain and thunder (drizzle or quiet rain isn’t a problem). They aren’t destructive to their home during a storm but they do experience a lot of anxiety during them; usually this takes the form of heavy panting and pacing back and forth. These are a soulful, kind pair of ladies who would love to be part of a loving home!

*All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. We believe fostering dogs and not having them decompress in a kennelled environment is more beneficial for the dogs and builds their trust and companionship in a family situation. Adoption fee includes transportation costs, previous/current medical treatment (spay/neuter, etc.) and a health certificate for cross-state travel*
