Meet Meena! This eye-catching young BC/Aussie girl, whose name means “blue gem”, has a vibrant and inquisitive personality to match her unique blue merle looks. And it's thanks to her sunny outlook and irrepressible spirit that she is still here today!
Meena, victim of a jailed owner, spent 6 loooong weeks, 24-7, confined to a small kennel at a very crowded and noisy Wyoming shelter. Many dogs would have simply withered under these stressful circumstances...and indeed, Meena was not at all happy there. But once she was cleared to be released to WBCR, Meena bounded into the next chapter of her life without a moment’s hesitation, ready for fun!!
We welcomed her with open arms and Meena is, of course, THRILLED to be living the life she deserves in foster care! This happy, confident girl is as friendly and outgoing as they come. She adores human attention and loves to meet and greet everyone! She also likes other dogs, especially playful ones who like to wrestle. If there is nothing else in the world to catch her attention, Meena is just as happy to entertain herself with toys - she will toss them in the air for herself and run around - pester and tease the cats, or amuse herself with whatever else stirs her never-ending curiosity! Yes, she's a busy girl. Meena is showing signs of being a fetcher, too, but should a dog run past her, she cannot help herself and switches to herding mode.
Meena is housetrained, cratetrained, and familiar with the basics, although she will need some brushing up on her manners in general. Fortunately, she's as bright as they come too, but is a boundary tester for sure and will need an adopter who will set rules and limits on her behavior. Meena can also be a little pushy with other dogs and will taunt cats endlessly, so will be placed either as an only dog, or with confident dogs only, and in a cat-free home.
All in all, Meena is a party looking for a place to happen and is going to make an amazing companion. Her goofy character and ridiculous antics are sure to put a smile on your face. If you love the exuberant, curious, and life-loving type - this blue gem may be the perfect girl for you! Meena is approx 3 years old, spayed, microchipped and current on vaccinations, and is living in a loving foster home near Loveland, CO.
