My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi friends! I’m Hermie! I’m roughly 2-3 years old and I just graduated from the School of Hard Knocks. Here’s why I say that: I may or may not have chewed on an electrical wire when I was younger. I didn’t take myself to the ER like I should have. My mouth did heal, just not properly and I ended up with a hole in the roof of my mouth. I lived like that for a bit before being found by some people who put me in touch with this awesome rescue. Some of the food I ate would come out of my nose and eyes. Talk about a cool party trick! Being the brave guy I am, I went through 3 surgeries to fix it. I now have a silicone plate in my mouth covering the hole so less food comes out of my nose. My plate does require some maintenance from time to time. I still have some nasal discharge, but nothing a good face wipe can’t fix.

Overall, I’m very affectionate and love cuddling. OH! Did I mentioned I’m cross eyed?! Yes, I can see. I can also hear the sound of my food being made and will let you know if you’re doing it wrong. I eat ALL of my food although it can be a messy process. I like playing with other cats, but I also like my alone time. I also like dogs as long as they respect my personal space. If you are interested in giving me my perfect forever home, apply now!

Hermie is a special case and requires some extra medical care due to an injury to his mouth.
