My story

Wenqian (born in October of 2014) came to Safe Haven at 3 days old with her mom and 8 siblings, and she was adopted by an older gentleman. He also adopted Mishka from another organization, and the two of them have lived together ever since. Wenqian came back to Safe Haven with Mishka in tow when their owner passed away. Wenqian loves to play with her people and other dogs, and she is hoping to find a home where she can play with Mishka and her people furever. Both Wenqian and Mishka are friendly with other dogs, although Wenqian’s excitement can sometimes be too much for her new friends.

Safe Haven Animal Sanctuary (SHAS) is a no-kill, 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was founded in 1996, and is the largest and longest-running no-kill facility in the Las Cruces, NM area. SHAS provides medical care, food, shelter and comfort to nearly 90 homeless cats and dogs of our community, while seeking caring homes for them.
