My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Mocha Joe (Mojo) is a year old medium/high energy border collie mix looking for a family to play with him. He loves toys and making up his own games. One of his favorite games is putting toys in the couch cup holder and fishing them out or dropping toys behind the couch for you and him to search for together. He is a clever boy and is always smiling. He currently lives with two children (7 and 10) who love to play games with him. They have had many friends come over to play with him and Mojo loves them all. He would be an excellent family dog with children ages 6+ but would also be content with someone who enjoyed having a playful dog.

Mojo gets along well with cats and other dogs. He does have an energetic play style. If his new dog sibling is lower energy, they will need to have a more assertive personality to give Mojo the hint that they don’t necessarily want to play with him all the time. He currently lives with a low energy assertive French bulldog and a medium energy border collie who he plays with off and on.

Mojo walks well on a leash and while he does look at other dogs that pass, he does not bark and can be easily led away. He can walk alone or in a group of other dogs. He would make a good jogging partner but would also be content just walking along with you. He still needs a bit more training to solidify walking by your side, but he is extremely food motivated and has excelled in the training walks we have done.

Mojo will need a fenced in yard that is a minimum 4 feet. He did play the escape artist at his last house but has had no issues at his foster home, he enjoys sitting outside with his foster brother quietly enjoying the beautiful weather and we have not seen him bark at the neighbor dogs (even though they bark plenty at him).

He is crate trained and when play time is over, he will rest in his crate quietly. He should be crated when leaving the house or at night to set him up for success as he is still young and will make his own fun while you are away. He is potty trained and is up to date on all vaccinations.

Mojo is being fostered in St. Louis, Mo.
