Mama Cass is a female yellow dachshund. She is 6 years old and she weighs 14.6 pounds. Mama Cass is recently spayed, with a very small mammary tumor removed, and vaccinated including rabies. She tested heartworm positive and has started slow kill treatment with a Proheart 6 and doxycycline. Mama is ready for adoption.

Mama Cass is a smart, affectionate little lady. She is pretty reserved in new situations but not exactly shy. Mama is food protective and food driven so care should be taken with treats and food around other dogs. Mama Cass gets along with other dogs otherwise. She needs a little work with the leash but is receptive. Mama Cass is crate and potty trained. She likes a lap and being a sitting buddy.

A completed adoption application and, upon approval, an adoption contract is required. Jeff Tarpley Rescue welcomes applications from homeowners, renters, and condo or apartment dwellers. At a minimum, a phone interview will be conducted and a vet reference checked before the applicant may meet their preferred pet.

We adopt primarily in the 4 states of the ArkLaTexOma. Applicants willing to travel to Texarkana will also be considered with additional requirements to qualify as approved.
