Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sherlock is an owner surrender to GRRNT. He is a smart guy. He knows how to ring a bell when he wants to go outside. He knows “sit” and “lay down” and loves to be brushed and loved on. He likes to squeeze in the middle if you are hugging, and he loves belly rubs! He prefers adults, and asks that his new family not have small children. Small dogs are ok if they are calm and not bouncing around in his face.
At first, Sherlock did not play. Now that he’s lost a few pounds—and maybe acclimated a bit—he’s been playing with the toys if you play with him. Sherlock doesn’t mind thunderstorms. He rides well in the car. He does pull on the leash and will do better if he wears a harness.
He loves food and would love to share yours, and he will counter surf or get in in the trash if you leave enticing things where he can get them. He does try to steal the other dog’s food so I have to watch them eat, and make sure they are separated. This probably explains his current size.
Sherlock weighed in at 114 lbs when GRRNT first got him. He is getting more exercise, and a lower calorie diet, and he is down to 100 lbs already. The vet said he should lose at least 20 lbs., so his target weight is around 95 lbs., and then the vet will reassess how much more he should lose. His forever family will have to commit to continue his weight loss regimen until he is down to a healthy weight. He is already feeling more active, and the more he loses the better his activity level will be.
Sherlock’s ideal family will not have any little animals or small children. If there are other dogs they should be older, and calm. He probably will be happier as the only dog in the home. Come meet Sherlock and see if this boy is the big love you need in your life
