My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is a courtesy post. This dog is not with a Senior Dog Haven and Hospice foster home. Please email Lisa at Lmp1129@gmail.com for more information.
Darwin is a 7year old, male neutered, Coonhound weighing a bit over 50 lbs.
With age, Darwin has decided he would prefer to be an only pet. He is housebroken and even knows some fun tricks like spin! When he is excited sometimes he mixes up commands such as "sit" and "lay". In a true Coonhound fashion, his nose drives him. He will do nearly anything for a treat. Watch the counters though! As a family member, Darwin feels he should have full access to food on the counters. He does respond well to redirection though.
Darwin prefers to spend as much time as possible with his people. That includes cuddling close by on the couch or bed, going for walks and hikes, short car rides, and hanging out by the lake. (Definitely not in the lake though. He much prefers four feet on the ground!) He does have mild separation anxiety. He typically is not destructive but does vocalize when upet. He always loudly alerts you when someone is at the door. When you get home or he is over excited he will jump on you. This is a work in progress. He knows better but can't help himself. Darwin does take a few medications to manage his anxiety and allergies. He has transferable pet insurance which covers 90% of the costs for these medications.
