Hi, my name is Blitz and I have to tell you about the sad before I can tell you about the happy! I was a cruelty case, starved and weighing in around 25lbs when I came to MVPC. Within one week, I gained 10lbs. Within six weeks, I am up to 44lbs and still gaining. I am guessing around 55lbs should be a healthy weight, so I am still a work in progress. That was the bad.
Now on to the good. I am the nicest boy ever. Being starved didn’t alter my sweet personality at all. I am friendly and sweet with all I meet, whether human, canine or feline. I am still very focused on food, but I am gentle and will happily sit, focus and be a good boy for dinner and treats. I really enjoy the company of other dogs and have been very gentle with the kitty. I need a family that will continue to work with me on training and keep me engaged and involved. I spent a lot of time with no love, so I fully expect lots and lots of love, fun and learning from here on out.
ADOPTION FEE: $200 (All MVPC dogs are heartworm-tested, completely vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, crate-trained and house-trained).
A $100 hold fee is required for approved applications and will be applied to the full adoption fee at the time of the home visit.

PLEASE NOTE: We are volunteer based and a home visit is required; we have a two-hour adoption radius from Kettering, OH for our adult dogs and 75 miles for our puppies. Exceptions for our ADULT dogs only, though rare, may be made on a case-by-case basis but we must be able to do a home visit. Thank you for your understanding!
