My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chyanne will capture your heart with her deep golden soulful eyes and her gentle sweetness. 4 year old Chyanne is shy around new people at first, but when she opens up, this brown beauty will melt your heart! She will give you a look of utter adoration and affection once you gain her trust. She will lovingly sit next to you on the couch, rest her front paws and head and nuzzle into your lap for cuddles and head rubs. As Chyanne gets accustomed to her surroundings, she will show you her fun & playful side. Chyanne likes to chase her ball around the room, playing with her chew toys and self-entertaining herself. During the day, Chyanne will mostly quietly lay on her bed watching the birds and squirrels through the window. She will occasionally come up to you pressing her wet nose to you to say hello before returning to her bed or chew toys. This beautiful girl is potty-trained and crate trained and will sleep throughout the night with no fuss. She barks only when there is a strange sound or unfamiliar noise outside the house, warning off any "intruders"! Chyanne is a foodie, who loves her veggies and fruits. Chyanne has started to enjoy walks around the neighborhood and gets super excited when she knows she gets to go on a car ride with her foster family. For  potty break, she will run in the yard before enthusiastically and excitedly running back to the house to be let in. Chyanne is currently the only dog in her foster home enjoying all the one on one attention. She wouldn't mind staying a solo dog but has also done well with other dogs who are just as easy going as she. Chyanne is a no fuss-no muss kinda girl, who can't wait to meet her forever family and shower them with kisses, cuddles and tons of love!  Are you Chyanne's furever? Send in your application today at https://underhoundrailroad.org/adoptionprocess/. Not only will you gain a loyal friend, also source of inspiration and joy!

Chyanne is currently being fostered in Cary, North Carolina. She may transport along the East Coast as far North as Maine to her adoptive home.

We are a foster based rescue, only. We do not have a physical facility. Once your application has been approved, we will work with you to set up a meet and greet with your potential pet.

More about this rescue

Underhound Railroad was formed in 2009 by a group of friends, with the goal of rescuing innocent dogs from death row in Connecticut shelters. Underhound Railroad has now grown to include rescue communities in Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, North Carolina, South Carolina and Utah.

With our focus on rural areas where shelters are overflowing with abandoned dogs waiting to find rescue, our network of Underhound volunteers work hard to prevent undeserved deaths, see that medical, emotional and behavioral needs are tended to, and transportation as well as a loving foster family are provided to the pups on their journey to finding their forever homes!
