My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rory is just the sweetest little tabby girl! She is always looking for kisses and cuddles and lap snuggles. She loves to climb and chase and wrestle with her sisters and brother and toe biting of her foster momma ranks up there with her fun! She is easygoing and rolls with whatever life throws at her.
This little girl is one of 3 siblings born to an FIV momma, and has also tested positive for FIV.
She will be retested at 6 months (during her spay visit) to determine if her positive test is true or a result of momma's antibodies.
FIV is spread through deep fight bites or from a positive momma.
FIV reduces the cat’s immune system’s ability to respond to any infections due to the lower amount of white blood cells in the body. The best way to manage an FIV cat is to use preventative care so that the cat can be as strong as possible before any of these symptoms manifest, and if they do arise, symptomatic treatment is usually the course of action. Yearly vaccinations, a healthy diet and staying indoors to limit their exposure to potential illness, can extend an already long life.
An FIV kitty should be the only kitty or go to a home with another FIV kitty to prevent accidental transmission.
She is FelV negative, flea treated and dewormed, up to date on his vaccines and will come with a voucher for her spay at 6 months, done in Woodstock at our vet. To facilitate the spay surgery, applications from locations within half an hour distance from Woodstock will be considered.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING!
An adoption application can be found at www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com (click on Adopt, then Cats for Adoption, then scroll to the bottom of the page). We require 2 non-familial references (including contact numbers) as well as permission to speak with your vet.
You must be 21 years old to adopt. The adoption fee is $200.
It may take up to 72 hours to approve your application. Please provide all requested information, including contact numbers, to help expedite the process. Repeated phone calls and emails will not move your application along.
We are a volunteer, foster based rescue. We are not able to facilitate meet and greets before an application is received. You are not able to meet multiple kitties to see if one fits as the animals may be fostered in different locations.
Please help us get the kitties to their forever homes faster by respecting these guidelines!
