Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Malachi was rescued when we went to a TNR (trap/neuter/return) site in Gervais with a cat colony that all started with one mama cat. The family was feeding the cats dog food. When we were there the kittens were so hungry that they were eating the chickens' food (cracked corn).
Lucky for the kittens, the family did socialize the kittens. Instead of trap/neuter/return, we did trap/neuter/rescue of 10 kittens!
Maliachi has become quite the charmer in his foster home. He does fine with the other kitties and kissed a dog (and liked it!). Loves to "help" with emails and surfing the web. Foster Mom had to hide the credit card because Temptation Treats - also known as kitty crack - were arriving almost daily.
If you don't already have another cat in your home (or are looking for a bonded pair) take a look at his foster brother, Reese. We are suggesting they be adopted together but we're open to him being adopted solo as well.
$75 for just Malachi, $150 for Reese and Malachi.
Hardest part of rescue is:
- Not being able to save every cat.
- Finding excellent homes for our rescues.
Silverton Cat Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. In order to make sure cats under our care go to the safest and most compatible homes we require adoptees to fill out our Rescue’s application and accept a home visit. Application requests can be made by emailing Silverton.Rescue@gmail.com
We do not have a shelter. All our rescues are in foster homes.
The $75 adoption fee per cat insures that all cats coming into your care will be delivered altered (spayed/neutered), microchipped, vaccinated for Rabies and FVRCP (feline distemper), dewormed, and treated for pesky fleas.
