My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Waylon, a 7–8-month-old Australian Cattle Dog mix who is eager to learn. He’s thrilled to have the opportunity to live a lavish lifestyle. Although he had a rough start early in life, he’s adjusting well to in house living.

Waylon walks very well on leash and rarely has accidents in home, any accidents inside have been out of excitement
.
He’s excited to go for walks and to be in the company of other dogs, has some hesitancy around water but with positive encouragement, will jump right in! Waylon would happily curl up on the couch next to you and sleep all day or go out in the world exploring by your side.

When Waylon arrived from his 3-day transport from down south, he wouldn’t touch a toy. With some guidance from a confident dog in the foster home, he has successfully demolished several toys and loves to chew on bones.

Without supervision he may go for shoes or furniture, so puppy proofing is recommended before turning your back. For his safety and your patience, he would do best crated when left alone.

He is mostly crate trained but doesn’t love sleeping in the crate overnight. However, with Gilmore girls on in the background he settles right down.

Waylon is so excited to meet his future forever home that he wants to jump into everyone’s heart. He will need to continue working on his manners but after settling down, does very well in many settings.

Unknown how he is with ‘dog friendly’ cats, he is too excited for the ‘dog tolerant’ cats in the foster home.

Waylon is being fostered in Lisbon, Maine
