Hello, my name is Syndey (yes, like the most populous city in Australia) and I am a purebred Australian Cattle Dog....AKA Red Heeler. I was purchased as a wee pup by my original owner from a private breeder, not one of those puppy mills!!
I have been loved and adored for my entire life and it shows in my easy going and loving personality. I am an affectionate and doting companion and thrive on human interaction.
I was raised on a ranch and have spent my life around horses, goats, llamas, deer, cattle, cats and other dogs. Although I love the great outdoors, I am an "inside" dog and need to live as a member of the family.
My original owner became very ill and passed away. The person that has been taking care of me since that happened is leaving the ranch and moving into an apartment and can't have doggies in their new place. I have been saddened by these losses, but I am always a "glass is half full" kind of gal and am looking forward to the rest of my life in a furever home.

At a healthy 8 years young, I have reached the age of "canine reason". I don't tear up or mess with other people's things, I don't have tantrums if I don't get my way, I don't jump on people, and I never have accidents in the house! I am in perfect health and have a great smile and recall. I always come when called and have a well developed vocabulary of "human speak" that I understand. I have excellent manners.
At 50 pounds of irresistible love, I represent the perfect companion animal. I am fit and can go on moderate hikes and snuggle with you on the couch afterwards. I love watching TV with my Foster Family!! (I love snuggling up close next to my hooman...I think I was a lap dog in a former life :)
My favorite things are having a tennis ball thrown for me, car rides, and walks. All you have to do is open the car door and say , "Sydney, load up"...and I am in the car with a happy expression on my face!!
I have had consistent vet care with the same vet since puppy hood and all of my records are available to my new family.
