My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoptions by appointment only. Visit www.kootenaihumane.org and select the ADOPT tab to view our new adoption process.

My name is Penny and I recently came to KHS from another shelter. I am a very polite and well mannered girl. I may be a bit shy at first, but once I get to know you, my personality really shines! During my stay here at KHS, my friends have noticed that I am very shy of men but once you get to know me I warm up. I could either go out and play or stay inside and relax. I enjoy the company of other pets, I am house-trained, and know basic commands. I ride well in the car . I am a very good loose leash walking kind of gal. If you`re looking for a pet to be by your side, then I might be your girl! Before considering adding me to your life, please make sure you have the appropriate amount of time, space, and resources available to care for me for my lifetime. I am very excited about finding my new forever family!

More about this shelter

Companions Animal Center is a non-profit organization funded exclusively by donations and grants. Every day we receive numerous homeless animals. We shelter, feed, and provide medical care for these animals while searching for loving homes for them.

As a "No-Kill" shelter, animals who are in our facility do not face a "be adopted quick or else" ultimatum but rather are cared for until they can be placed.

Our Mission - is to focus all of our efforts and resources toward directly benefiting the quality of life for all abandoned or mistreated pets with the ultimate goal of finding each one a loving household in which to share their lives.
