Name: Jacob
Age: 2 yrs old
Sex: Male (neutered)
Breed: Jindo ×Shiba
Weight: 18kg
Jacob was one of the 28 dogs rescued from an abandoned dog training facility in Korea. In June, the activist group @animal_kara launched an on-site investigation after receiving urgent reports that there might still be dogs left in the collapsing facility. He was rescued with our alumni @kobeinyourarea @rescuing_halloumi . Countless dogs had already died, but the remaining ones were able to be rescued, some in critical conditions.
Jacob arrived Toronto Aug 30th, this Monday. He already met his cousin kobe and played! He is good with other dogs but does not play all day. He is friendly to the dogs that he encounters during the walk but more curious about his surroundings. (probably because he is mew here and everything smells different.) He is also good with adult males and females both. He already let his foster dad rub his belly and became a sweetheart to his foster mom.
At home, he is low maintenance, he keeps himself busy and loves his squeaky ball. He could be with that for hours so please use the toy when you leave him alone. He may have separation anxiety as he never had family before. He likes to be around people, likes pets and would sit around you while eating/working. He is well crate trained. He goes to his crate when tired.
When walking, he has high energy, is very curious, and would like to try to sniff everything. He lets you put the leash/harness on him but doesn't walk straight, so a family who can leash train him will be a good match.
