My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lightning is a happy go lucky kind of guy!

He loves his toys, running in the back yard (AKA chasing that pesky bunny!!) and snuggling up next to his human at the end of a long day.
Lightning would do good with a female dog with a similar type personality, playful with enough energy to keep up with this crazy boy! He'd also do fine as an only dog, as long as his humans want to play some times!! We have not tested Lightning with males, so at this time we'd prefer a home with no other male dogs. Considering chasing that bunny has become one of the highlight's of Lightning's day - to be on the safe side we are going to say no cats.

Lightning likes to go on adventures, so an active home would be wonderful! Preferably with no young kids, Lightning can be a wild man and although he wouldn't mean to, might accidentally knock a little over.

If you want your next dog to be a lover, Lightning is the dog for you! (:

Dogos are a wonderful breed but we urge anyone interested to dig in and do a lot of research before deciding if they are a good fit for your home. They require a lot of attention and training with them never ends! Boundaries must be enforced and they often need reminders as they push past boundaires you set! Dogos are loving, kind and gentle but don't mistake that for weakness because they are equally powerful and intense as well! Everyone in the home must be on board with having a dogo and play a major role in their daily routines and training. Yes it is work, but the rewards are ten-fold! Lazy homes don't work for dogos as they need stimulation, exercise, and lots of attention too during their younger years. Our goal in rescue is to be as transparent as we can about each and every dog plus make sure new families really understand the needs of a dogo!
