My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Basil is a sweetheart of a puppy with an outstanding temperament. He is extremely friendly and has never met a stranger - canine or human. His favorite thing in the world is playing with other dogs, but curling up in your lap is 2nd on his list. He is both potty trained and crate trained, so he makes a wonderful roommate. Basil is content to curl up in his bed for the night, or sleep directly on your pillow if you'll let him!

He is still a puppy with lots of energy, so he'll be able to keep up with you on any walk, hike, run, or swim you emBARK upon. He is leash-trained, which makes the process even easier!

He is spring-loaded, but does come back when called, so it's important that he is supervised while outside.  Basil may be half border collie and half jackrabbit, because this little guy has hops! As long as you’re outside with him, he’s happy to show off by bouncing after butterflies and falling leaves, but he should not be left outside unattended to put his spring-loaded legs to work hopping over a fence.

Basil's zest for adventure doesn't stop at the fence. He also likes to be the first one out the door - even if you weren't planning on letting him loose!

His foster family is working on teaching him the meaning of the word "Wait," but he will require some additional training to ensure his safety. Basil loves to explore, but he does get carsick, so long drives are not his favorite.

This little guy is truly a joy to be around. You can't look at him without smiling! He is ready and waiting for his forever home - will you be his perfect match?

Basil is being fostered in the Lamar, Mo area.
