My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ayla is a little Doxie mix. She is 13 years old and only 5 pounds Ayla and her brother have been together most of their life and are bonded to each other. Their adoption fee is $150. Ayla is being fostered in Orlando, FL.
Dogs being fostered in Florida need to be adopted within the state of Florida.

Updated bio 08/24/2021: Little Ayla and her brother CocoPuff found themselves in the shelter when their mom had a very bad stroke. Their mom's daughter was unable to keep them, and she brought them to the shelter in hopes the shelter would find them a home where they could stay together for the rest of their years. Ayla's brother CocoPuff is a Yorkie and in order to keep them together the shelter asked if we would take them both. We would never consider splitting up two dogs so attached to each other, and that is how a little Doxie named Ayla became a Yorkie Rescue dog.

Heres what Ayla had to say after being in her foster home for almost two weeks..

Hi, it's Ayla. I'm Coco Puff's little sister. We are doing just great in our foster home. We've been together all our lives and want to stay together ever.

Here's what CocoPuff and I would like to have in our new home: We prefer our new mom/dad to be retired or work from home. Since we're seniors, we don't like to be left alone for long periods of time. We love to have lots of lap time and we can't do that if you're not home with us. A fenced yard would be nice, but not a deal breaker if you don't have one.

I am spayed, up-to-date on my vaccinations and microchipped. I saw the dogtor today for a recheck on the intestinal parasites that I had when I came into my foster home. Thank goodness, they're all gone. I feel much better now.

I am both vision and hearing impaired, which is not unusual for a 13 year old senior pup like me. The vet said he detected a heart murmur but at this time it is not causing me any concerns. The vet said that I didnt need any medications and that there is nothing that was needed to do about the murmur. He also suggested it is possible that I have always had the heart murmur and it had not been an issue for me. I do have a little arthritis in my back leg, but foster mom is giving me glucosamine which is helping. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and am on thyroid medication. The vet said that it is quite manageable and I may need to be on this for the rest of my life.

My foster mom said I am such a sweet and quiet little girlie. I only want to sit on her lap and love her. I likes to cuddle, being only 5+ pounds, and even when I am at my correct weight of about 7 lbs, I will still be such a small little girl that cuddling with me would be so easy and so nice for me and for you. I love to be wrapped in a little blanket when Im being held.

I'm ready to go to my furever home with my brother CocoPuff. Will it be yours?

Ayla out .
