My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet this charming fella named Black Jack! (Now in Foster care and doing well. A meet and greet can be arranged if interested in meeting Black Jack.) He and 3 of his siblings were originally surrendered over to animal control by their owners the end of July 2021. They all came in undefeated, terrified and unsure of shelter life. They had never been on leash and were use to being outside. They have grown leaps and bounds since they came in and are tackling leash walking and are thriving. Once they know you they will love you with their whole heart.(Blackjack was adopted pretty quickly and was returned 1/24/22 when his owner said he was working a lot and Blackjack didn’t seem to want to eat any more. Felt he was depressed and that maybe he could find a loving home that could provide him more time.) Black Jack is around 5 years 5 months old, is current on his shots, and neutered. He doesn’t like to potty in his kennel where he stays. He originally came in missing fur and not in the best of shape but he is free from those pesky fleas, and his hair is coming back in. Slowly but surely! He will need a patient and loving home that will take time to work with him to settle in and help him feel secure and loved. I think once that happens a super an amazing pup will flourish within him. Just a beautiful boy with so much happiness and love to share. Maybe you have a loving, healing, fun but laid back home that is just perfect for Black Jack?! Please stop by for a visit & even if he is not the pooch for you he is getting better socialized with new people which helps all around. Adopt Black Jack into your heart and home today!!
If you have another dog and are interested in meeting another potential new furry member please bring him or her to the shelter and meet on neutral ground before adopting. No need to shuffle the animals around any more than necessary. Please know that 1 mosquito bite can create heart worms and they can be fatal if not treated. It is VERY important to keep your pets healthy and protected by keeping them on a once a month heart worm and flea/tick prevention. These animals are counting on you as their owner to provide them with lots a love and the proper health care so PLEASE make sure you are aware and prepared before adopting. Owning a pet is an extra expense and responsibility but is so worth every minute and penny you invest in them. They will add lots of joy and unconditional love if given a fair chance.
The shelter is open Mon.-Fri. 10-1, 2-5, Sat. 10-4. Adopt a homeless pet and save a life. If you can not adopt right now come out and volunteer and make a difference in the lives of these animals while they await their FOREVER home.
In order to adopt any of our "bully breeds" there is special paper work that will need to be collected and approved prior to the adoption. We love all of our dogs and want to make sure to place our "bully babies" in homes best suited for them.
