Here's what the humans have to say about me:
'WILBUR' is a 2-3 yr. old, 70 lb., Labrador Retriever mix male we rescued from a very high kill pound. Wilbur is a super nice boy with a kind soul, and there aren't enough great things we can say about him. Very sweet, loving, eager to please, gentle-natured ... he's the total package ! Wilbur does excite when he sees other dogs and will bark out windows, etc. when they come in view. Wilbur is very selective about who is his canine buddies: some submissive males he is great with, others not. Some submissive females he likes. His selectivity is most likely due to being a stray before he ended up at the high kill pound. He does seem to prefer calmer dogs of slightly smaller size who are not noisy and excitable, so wisest choice would be for Wilbur to be an only furkid. Wilbur would need a fenced in yard.
Wilbur has not been cat-tested and we are fairly certain he would have a prey-drive with them.
Wilbur is neutered, fully vaccinated, de-wormed, on monthly heart-worm preventative, crate-trained and house-trained. This rescue does not do it's own 'shots' ... all medical care is done by a licensed, certified Veterinarian or done under their direct supervision (ex., monthly heartworm treatments &/or deworming). All of our rescued dogs have been on a nutritional regime which includes high quality food and supplements (ex., probiotics; vitamins, etc). This is done to bolster their immune systems and overall health; the result benefits their adoptive family with a pooch who has a lustrous coat, bright shiny eyes, and happy and healthy disposition.
