My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Look at this gentle soul who had recently lost his owner. Jay stayed loyally by his side throughout his illness right until the end. Jay was pretty depressed when he first arrived in our Rescue but thanks to a wonderful foster Mom, he's really come out of his shell and has found new joy in life-that is going for long walks. Let this sweet boy see a leash and he's all on alert for his outside adventure. Meeting and greeting other dogs and children is one of his favorite parts of walking and he even gets a real spring in his step now that he's lost some of the weight he gained while his owner was so ill.

Jay is a really good boy in the house but has a difficult time with stairs. He does not counter surf, bark, destroy things, get on furniture or chew, He especially enjoys when people come to visit so he can lay quietly and just listen to them talk and watch them while they enjoy the conversation.

We believe Jay to be a Golden Retriever/Bassett Hound.. Because of his owner's ill health, Jay was .overweight with some "love handles" when he came into our Rescue but thanks to some wonderful walks, he steadily losing weight Jay is heartworm negative, current on all vaccinations, neutered, chipped, wormed and anxiously awaiting his new family.
