Navette, sweet Navette stole our hearts right from the start. She was standing in her kennel when we approached with squinty eyes and had a mangy smell. She was a bit nervous but let us reach in for her and coax her outside. She would flinch any time we moved too quickly and even when we did the hand motion for sit. Navette’s eyes are very irritated, one side more than the other and we think her vision is slightly impaired. It appears she is suffering from entropion and might need surgery to fix it. They bother her so much she will use whatever she can find (us, the grass, a toy) to try to scratch them. Navette sits on command, takes treats gently, and allows handling all over. She is a bit sensitive around her eyes for clear reasons but still takes any help she can get getting the gunk out.
