We would like you to meet our JP



JP is a male American Stafford mix. He is 4 years old and weighs 55 lbs. He is HW-, neutered and UTD on all shots. JP ended up in the dog pound when his owner was arrested. He had a hard time being taken from everyone he knew and placed in the scary shelter, so he went to training where he learned basic commands and was able to socialize with other dogs. JP may take a little while to warm up, as he is a bit shy when he first meets someone.He is crate trained and fully potty trained. He is not food aggressive and has always been fed in a kennel. He does love to cuddle, loves butt scratches, and enjoys working for treats. He knows sit and shake and will eagerly go in his crate for a bedtime treat.



He does need a bit more work on his social skills and is a bit too forward with other dogs, so that will be a project for his new family. He probably needs to be around dogs who can be tolerant until he learns better social skills. His behavior around cats is unknown.



He is medium to high energy so probably would be best around older and bigger children.
