Colgate came in scary skinny but in a harness. We were hoping he’d been lost for an extended period of time and his owners were desperately looking for him. But as the days go by, that glimmer of hope fades. Colgate is a bit beat up. He walks slowly and doesn’t put weight on a back leg. We can’t decide if it’s his paws or something higher up causing him discomfort. Colgate is not comfortable letting us look at the leg or really even touch it and we didn’t want to make his pain worse. He was doing a lot of searching his first day but allowed some butt scratches when he’d pause to look out into the yard. A few days into his stay, Colgate was coming to lean on us for pets. He needs some time to heal physically but we know he was someone’s pet once and can be again.
