My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Wiley Chanel!  Born on July 24, 2020, her original name was Chanel, but with her long legs and skinny physique, we think she looks like Wile E. Coyote!  So, her name has morphed to Wiley.

This sweet youngster is a really good pup.  She is pretty low key most of the time, enjoying lounging in the house all day.  She also loves laying and rolling in the grass.  In the evening, she runs around the yard doing loop-de-loops to burn energy.  She is also determined to catch the squirrel that taunts her!

Wiley loves to be petted.  She definitely has the Pyr paw thing down!  When you stop petting her, she’ll touch you with her paw; this is dog-speak for “more, please.”

Wiley is very cautious with new people and takes time to warm up to them.  It took her a long time to feel really comfortable in her foster home.  And now she is learning to be more like a happy, carefree pup.  Endearingly, she’s finally learning how to cuddle with her people.

Wiley may not have been exposed to many men in her past, because she has been more cautious around the teenage boys in her foster home.  But she finally warmed up to them.  She is good with older kids who are on the quiet side, but she gets startled with a lot of activity, so she probably wouldn’t enjoy a home with lots of younger kids.

Wiley is good with all dogs.  Because she is not super confident, she needs at least one large doggy companion in her forever home.  Her dog buddy must be young enough to romp around with her.  This friend will help show Wiley how to become a well-adjusted adult dog.

She loves cats!  She wants to play with them.

In Wiley’s original home, she was allowed to visit with company while she was in her crate.  She learned to stay in her safe place and bark at visitors.  (Not a bad bark.)   Her foster family has worked to teach Wiley that people who are invited into the home can be greeted happily, and there is no need for her to seek shelter.  She is getting better at relaxing, but whoever adopts her needs to be patient with her.

Wiley is completely house trained.  She doesn’t chew on anything she shouldn’t.  Her favorite toys are balls.

She is not comfortable on a leash at all yet.  She doesn’t like to wear a collar, and doesn’t like to go on walks.   She gets very nervous when she has to leave the house.

Beautiful Wiley Chanel will be a wonderful addition to a family who has lots of love and patience to give.

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
