My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Nia, and I am the softest mini Rex ever! I have lovely black velvet fur, with white trim, and gold behind my ears!
It doesn’t take me long to settle into a new environment, as I’m a pretty confident bunny, but let me explore at my pace and remind me that everything is okay. I love when you talk to me and tell me I’m a “sweet girl.” I melt right into the floor and purr with content when I get pets, so you have to keep going even when your arm gets tired.
I have a history of respiratory illness and have scarring that sounds like crackling when I’m nervous (at the vet) or when you hold me too long. I’m happiest with my feet on the floor and doing what I want to be doing.
My favorite thing to do is chew on Snak Shaks and take long naps. I go crazy for my nightly handful of pellets and will gladly accept baby carrots and Oxbow Meadow Loops as occasional treats! Sometimes the vet tells me I’m chunky, but I think I’m just wide set.
I’m potty trained and comfortable in my pen while you’re at work but as of lately I’ve been out and about for long periods of time, which definitely makes me the happiest bun! I typically only hop around for a little bit then settle into my favorite spot to groom and unwind. Loud noises such as the TV and unloading the dishwasher don’t bother me, but please let me go in my pen before you bring out the evil vacuum!
I’ve never lived with another bunny or small child, but I think I’d warm up to the idea as long as I’m loved and cared for. You’ll know I’m comfortable in my new home when I show you my binkys and you’ll know I’m REALLY happy when you see me roll over and do a flop.
