Well hello there! My name is Caramel, and as my name suggests, I’m super sugary and sweet! I came from rural Manitoba, but was rescued from the wildfires by some wonderful humans. You’d have no idea I’ve been through so much, because I’m filled with pure joy and love!
When you think about your typical puppy, full of joy, love, energy, and curiosity, that’s exactly what you get from me! Not to toot my own horn, but you’ll fall in love with me from the moment you meet me. My foster parents say I’m smart and quick to learn, so training will be super fun! Currently, I know “sit,” “no,” and “go,” and am working on “paw.” Food is one of my favourite things. Don’t worry, I’ll remind you I’m hungry by picking up my food bowl! If you have other dogs, please feed me separately from them. I was a homeless pup in Manitoba, and didn't always find food in the community where I was living, so sometimes I get possessive about food when I see it. I'm learning though, I promise! I also love toys, especially the ones that are squeaky. I’ll chew pretty much anything like most puppies, so you’ll need to show me that toys are the best thing to chew on.
I’m very friendly and not afraid to make new friends. I warmed up to my foster parents’ cat and dogs very quickly, though I’m still learning how to be gentler around my new feline friend and learning about boundaries and personal space with my dog buddies. I’m FULL of energy, but I also love a good nap - just give me a nice big pillow and I’ll catch some zzzz’s and make the cutest little noises while I’m in my dream world! I sometimes like hanging out in my crate, too, and am doing very well with learning to sleep there at night.
I’m learning leash walking very well and have even gone on a few long walks! I have to say, though, my favourite outdoor activity is hanging out in the backyard and watching some birds or listening to the critters running around. I’m also curious about the cars zooming by and am so courageous that I haven’t shown much fear at all. When I want to go outside I’ll sit nicely by the door and wait for you. Since I'm still a puppy, I need to be let out at least 4 times a day. It's good my foster parents have a backyard for me, because it made potty training easy! If you don't, that's okay, but boy oh boy would it be sweet if you did! I’m a versatile gal and would do well in many different environments.
All I ask is that you provide me with puppy training, and of course, lots of love!
