Hello, world! My name's Chai, yes, like the sweet and spicy tea you love so much. I come to Toronto all the way from Manitoba. My rescuers have put a lot of effort into saving me from the wildfires. From a remote First Nations Community to Toronto! Wow! I have to tell you I love it and I am adjusting so well.
I am a very friendly 4 month old puppy, curious and always up for a new adventure! I made new friends in my community instantaneously. I quickly click with other dogs and their humans. If I want to approach a new dog, I will signal by sitting down and looking in the dog's direction. Once the introductions are made and buts are sniffed, I will start playing because I am a puppy, and that's the only thing that matters to me.
I know some basic commands, like "come" and "sit," and I am so easy to train! I respond so well to positive reinforcement, so be patient and kind with me. I have learned to follow my foster humans’ rules, like no touching furniture, cords, or their parrot. I’m also happy to report I do all of my business outside and I am fully potty trained. I will patiently wait for you to take me on a walk but try not to make me wait too long, my bladder is still tiny!
Did I mention I sleep in my crate? Yes, I do! Every night 11 PM - 7 AM, I am in a kingdom of dreams. I do like naps during the daytime too. My foster mom is rather boring - she has meetings and calls all day. So, how do I entertain myself you ask? I sleep! When her calls are over, she will play fetch with me. I love my tennis ball, and I will happily chew on some soft rubber toys and bully sticks.
I am perfecting my leash walking skills. I take elevators and stairs, whatever you want me to take. Just give me a couple of seconds to adjust! I ride in a car too, I mostly sleep through the ride, but when I wake up, I am ready to face the outside world again!
People I meet say I am going to be a big dog. Who knows? But one thing they agree on - I am and will be a gorgeous dog! So, the sooner you bring me to my forever home, the sooner I will get used to your routine and can be your loyal friend forever.
