Hi, my name is Philly. I had a rough start because somehow I got lost, then I got pneumonia, and I hurt my nose, before ASF finally found me. Then they spent months helping me to get better. The first vet boarded me, and said I could stay loose in his clinic to greet all the clients because I am so sweet and gentle. That was fun!
Everyone says I could be a therapy boy because I am so laid back and happy. I was also a good boy at the groomer, and I’m looking pretty spiffy!
I’m up-to-date and on preventives. I even got my teeth cleaned! I am a very happy, handsome, healthy, housebroken, crate trained, 5-year old, black tri, 33 lb. mini-Aussie mix, with a plush tail.
My foster mom is very nice to me, but she is bonded with a much bigger, super crazy Aussie who REACTS to EVERYTHING! I don’t understand reacting at all. That big crazy dog doesn’t like strangers, or kids, or other dogs, or doorbells, or mops, brooms, vacuum cleaners, or wind and thunder. That’s a lot of reacting! And she barks, barks, barks! I hardly ever bark. I don’t even know what all that barking is for.
I’m friendly, confident, and curious. I really like most people and other dogs. I don’t mind housecleaning. I couldn’t care less who is at the door. I sit under the desk and nap during storms. Mostly I sit nicely beside my foster mom, because nothing is worth reacting to and risk missing out on petting! Sometimes petting even comes with watermelon chunks!!
That big crazy Aussie does other crazy stuff ALL THE TIME! She leaps into the air to catch balls! She never walks if she can run! And she uses me as a hurdle! I mean, what’s up with all that energy? I could teach her a lot about how to chill! I don’t even think she takes naps. Can you imagine??
I enjoy a nice walk around the block, but I don’t pull like she does. I enjoy a nice chewy, but I don’t devour one in 4 seconds and then try to steal one from another pup who savors. I do like destructing plushies, and my foster mom’s slipper…oops! Naps are good too. I firmly believe that absolutely NOTHING is better than sitting beside a hooman and getting petted!
Everyone agrees that someone will be super lucky to get me because I am a “Purple Squirrel.” And I come with a matching harness and leash, a comfy bed, toys, and a supply of food and preventives. I’m a complete package!
I will be imprisoned in this crazy Houston foster home (and this cone!) until I recover from my neuter surgery by August 30. So please adopt me by September 1st! Apply now! I gotta get out of this place, before this crazy dog’s craziness rubs off on me!!
P.S. I’m a bit nervous car rider, and I need to be trained to get into and out of a car without assistance. Or you can just pick me up, which I don’t mind!
