Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Biscuit was rescued by B.A.R.C. after Animal Control responded to a call from a neighbor informing them that he was tied to a tree, malnourished and abandoned by his owners. The neighbor reported that Biscuit lived his life outside, tied up along with his smaller companion, a Dachshund mix. He was sent to a kennel, because the local shelter was quarantined, and shortly thereafter rescued by B.A.R.C. volunteers.
Though little is known about Biscuit’s past, it is believed that he is about 2-3 years old. He is a beautiful caramel-colored fawn male who, surprisingly, came into the program heartworm negative and with no intestinal parasites. He has been neutered and fully vetted. Biscuit is housebroken and crate-trained, though he needs a little coaxing with a treat to get him in his crate. His foster parents are working on obedience and leash training, but he does well using a Gentle Leader.
Despite his past, Biscuit has an amazingly happy spirit. As soon as he was introduced to his foster parents’ backyard, it was almost as if he felt a sense of relief, joy and freedom to be the goofy, playful, spirited dog that he is. Biscuit has lots of energy and would definitely benefit from a family who’s committed to walking, playing, and exercising him and he’s a great dog to run with! After his walk, Biscuit really likes to take a stroll on his handy dandy treadmill too. Yes, a treadmill!
He plays well with his foster brother and sister (two Boxers) and would enjoy living with another playful doggie (big or small) that he can play tug-of-war with. In addition, Biscuit loves being around his human companions and will follow you around the house. He’s a loving dog who will sometimes try to sneak on the couch (one body part at a time that is) to be closer to you.
