My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Jaxx & I am looking for my forever family! The most important thing to know about me is that I love my foster mom. I know that it’s my job to keep her safe & she loves to hike with me!! I weigh 90 lbs but I am dainty on a leash. I see & hear everything & no one sneaks up on me!! I make my mom feel really safe. I love car rides, long naps on the couch & I am cool in a crate but I would prefer to nap on the couch all day!!
I am a big boy & I look intimidating ( I have serious resting bitch face) but I’m kind of a big chicken. New people make me nervous so I need a little bit of time to make friends!
I have lived with both dogs & cats in the past & i got along with some but not others.
I’m cool with other dogs on the trails because I know that I’m supposed to focus on my mom! I have a foster dad too. He’s cool. He gives good treats but I LOVE my mom ( & she says it’s adorable!!)
Do you need a big, beefy guy to make you feel safe?? I promise you won’t regret falling in love with me because I will love you back with my whole heart!!
~ Love, Jaxx

All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home.

We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application.

We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information.

We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.

Go meet their pets

As a network of foster homes, we do not have a "shelter location". We do hold meet and greet events each month at various locations where you can meet our precious pitties. Otherwise, meet and greets are only available with an approved application and home visit.

You can view our schedule of events at www.adoptapitrescue.org/events or on our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/adoptapitrescue

More about this rescue

Our mission is to rescue, re-home and rehabilitate abused, neglected and discarded "bully breed" dogs, with a focus on educating and advocating to ensure all bully breeds have a positive and optimistic future in a breed discriminatory society.
