My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m King, and I’m ready to be your new best friend! I’m the kind of dog who’s up for anything—whether it’s walking around the neighborhood, hiking through the woods, or just lounging around the house with you. No matter what we do, we’re going to have so much fun! I’m a playful, food-motivated pup, which means I’ll thrive in training and love learning new tricks. I’m also a well-behaved gentleman—I follow commands, don’t bark, don’t steal food, and haven’t chewed up anything (except for a squeaky toy I adore). I’ve got a snuggly side, too, and I’ll happily nap right by your side. And when I get excited, you might just catch me doing some epic zoomies! If you’re looking for a loving, intelligent, playful companion, meet me today! I’m ready to be the best boy you’ve ever met!
To keep me feeling my best, I’ll need an adopter who understands my long-term needs, including joint supplements and pain management. Don’t worry—our adoption counselors can fill you in on all the details. King would also prefer a home without other dogs.

*My adoption fee is waived thanks to a generous sponsorship from 317 Plumber, as I`ve been waiting for my forever home for 100 days.*

Additional adoption info

Our website, IndyHumane.org, is updated daily with pets who are available for adoption. Third-party sites, such as Adopt-a-Pet and others, are not accurate or reliable sources of information about our shelter pets. Please visit IndyHumane.org for more information and to check the status of a particular pet.
Each adoptable cat and dog has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Our adoption counselors are happy to share their behavioral and medical background with you during the application process!
We are a non-profit shelter with limited staff. Answers to common questions can be found at IndyHumane.org!

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

You can find up-to-date information on all of our available pets by visiting IndyHumane.org/Cats or IndyHumane.org/Dogs. Adopt-a-Pet is a third party site and not a source of reliable, updated information.

Our website is updated throughout each day, so if you see a pet on there that you are interested in, as long as their photo is on the website it means they are still available. Each profile will have a link for their online application. Please fill out an application for the pet you'd like to meet and a member of our team will contact you within 24-48 hours for more info and to schedule an intro. Thanks!
