My story

We are crazy for Kya! Here are 10 things that Ms. K wants her new family to know about her:

1. I am a purebred, papered American Bulldog and I am about 4.5 years old.

2. I got bounced around quite a bit before coming to The Bullpen, and it has given me some anxiety. I’m not destructive, but I do like to be the center of attention and near you as much as possible.

3. I’m super social and love almost everyone I meet. I think I would do well in a home with kids over 7, as long as they weren’t too loud or rambunctious and had some previous experience/training with big dogs.

4. Honestly, I would prefer to be the only dog in the home so I could have all the attention, but I also wouldn’t mind living in a home with a large, submissive male that I could play and hang out with. I haven’t had much experience with small dogs since I came to The Bullpen, so I’m just not sure how I feel about living in a home with them.

5. Meal time is my favorite time and I have a tendency to bully other dogs if they try to eat while I’m eating, so if my new family had another pet, we would have to be separated when we were being fed or given treats.

6. I’m not really sure how I feel about felines, but I think I could probably cohabitate with cats if given a slow and proper introduction.

7. The words that best describe me are silly, playful, eager-to-please, and sweet.

8. I like to eat, get petted, play with toys, and hang out with humans.

9. I am housebroken, crate-trained, and perfecting my leash skills more and more each day. I also know basic obedience and how to use a dog door.

10. I am fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, spayed, and microchipped.

Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a "perfect placement" so we know that they will not be failed again.
