Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bruno is full grown big boy at his 60-70 lb weight range. He exudes a wonderful happy energy, listens somewhat to basic commands, is calm and peaceful at times but again, lots of great happy energy! Would be a great hiking and running partner. Please know that If you are on a military post he will not meet the breed restrictions. He is the star of our dog walking program and has spent play dates at home with our volunteer and his kids. Bruno did super with his kids and family, chilling during the backyard fun times with his family. He is also very handsome!
American Staffordshire Terriers vs. Pit Bulls:
People often ask what the difference is between the American Staffordshire terrier and a pit bull. First of all, there is no breed called a pit bull. There is, however, a breed called the American pit bull terrier. It is not recognized by the American Kennel Club, but it is recognized by the Continental Kennel Club and the United Kennel Club. Generally speaking, the American Staffordshire terrier is nearly the same breed as the American pit bull terrier. Today, the main difference is in appearance. The American Staffordshire terrier is bred in part for AKC conformation and conforms to a stricter standard, particularly in size range. Conversely, the American pit bull terrier is more often bred as a companion dog and has greater variances in size (a range of 30 to 90 pounds) and other physical traits.
We must add that Bruno is not completely trained and will need a family that can spend time working with him on his social etiquettes like leash/walking and indoor potty training. We do have a dog walking program and Bruno is at the top of his class in leash walking!

Please use this link to request an ADOPTION application:https://HSPCA.17hats.com/p#/lcf/hfhxtvdzfwsxdpfdhkwsrphfspzhptpr
Please request an application and submit it, once approved you will be invited to make an appointment for a meet & greet with the animal of your choosing. you may also put in a general dog or cat application to meet multiple of each pet. If sparks fly and a great match happens at your meet & greet we will then schedule a home visit to come see you. You will be asked to sign a contract before the start of your trial. At this visit we will want to see your home to ensure our fur kid is going to be taken well care of. We will bring your new pet too so If the visit goes well we will begin the 1 week trial immediately..
During the trial we ask you stay in close contact and send photos and videos daily to keep us up to date. At the end of the trial if everyone is happy, including your new pet we will sign off on the contract and make the adoption official
